Families may be planning for a more low-key Halloween this year, but the candy is still flying off the grocery stores shelves. Remember, candy that melts easily (chocolate, particularly dark chocolate) is your best choice and also washes away easily. Avoid hard and sticky candies such as lollipops, gummies, and caramels. These stick to your teeth and don’t wash away easily. To help wash away the sugar, drink more water — studies show that drinking water more than three times a day can decrease the likelihood of cavities. And, of course, don’t forget to brush and floss twice a day!
